LGASHRM Member Benefits

LGASHRM offers a variety of programs and services throughout the year. Here are some of the highlights of the chapter's activities:

  • Meetings are held monthly throughout the entire year and generally on the second Thursday.  The agenda typically is networking/registration followed by a 90 minute luncheon with guest speaker/presenter.  Our goal is to provide high quality programs that address current human resource issues and topics that will enhance each member's personal development.

  • A half-day professional development opportunity is typically held once a year.  These programs are designed with the most relevant topics and/or technology for our members.  These programs may be held in conjunction with other neighboring Cleveland area organizations that can enhance the quality of the program.

  • A local newsletter is published quarterly.

  • An annual charity event is held.  This is an opportunity for HR professionals to give back to the community by partaking in a fun day that benefits local charitable organizations.

  • HR based interest programs are announced and supported by LGASHRM throughout the year. Such programs may include wage and benefit surveys, financial investment classes, training programs as well as the annual National SHRM conference, held in June.  Each year members are invited to attend this worldwide event, which is held in a different and exciting city throughout the U.S.  Additionally, LGASHRM participates in the local State Conference held each October in Ohio.

  • HRCI-Study programs in the local areas are made available each fall and winter to encourage HR professionals to gain their individual certification (PHR, SPHR).
